Step into Mominette Bistro, a delightful French restaurant nestled in the heart of Brooklyn at 221 Knickerbocker Ave. This charming eatery radiates an intimate ambiance, perfect for romantic dinners or cozy gatherings with friends. The decor strikes a balance between modern chic and classic bistro vibes, featuring soft lighting and warm, inviting colors that transport you straight to Parisian streets.

Mominette prides itself on offering authentic French cuisine made with love and local ingredients. Among the menu's highlights, the Housemade Gnocchi takes the spotlight, featuring pillowy dumplings smothered in a luscious roasted garlic cream sauce that’s simply irresistible at $20. For a heartier option, the Beef Bourguignon is a must-try—a classic slow-cooked beef stew imbued with rich red wine flavors, pearl onions, and tender carrots, served alongside Yukon potatoes for a fulfilling experience at $27.

Seafood lovers will revel in the Seafood Gratin, a decadent blend of scallops, shrimp, and lobster bisque baked to golden perfection under a crispy layer of Gruyere cheese, priced at $28. The Wild Mushroom Pesto Pasta showcases the earthiness of shiitake and Portobello mushrooms harmonized with house-made pesto, and for just $22, it’s a vegetarian delight that doesn’t compromise on flavor.

As for brunch, Mominette shines with a selection of refreshing cocktails like the Mimosa and the sophisticated Hibiscus Kir, both priced at an affordable $9. Guests have raved about the pancake, described as having a cake-like consistency paired perfectly with a scrumptious strawberry butter, making it a true standout from the brunch menu.

Reviews highlight the bistro's cozy feel, attentive service, and flavorful offerings. Customer Jamie L notes, “It may be small, but it delivers big on flavor,” and recommends the delectable escargot and duck confit. Wanessa Miyagusuku appreciated the lovely patio setting and the freshness of their oysters during a happy hour visit, while Quinlan Pollak felt that their escargot outshone those tasted in Paris. It’s evident that Mominette Bistro isn’t just about food; it’s about creating memorable experiences.

I really love this cozy, intimate restaurant. It may be small, but it delivers big on flavor. You have to start with the escargot--it's a must. The standout for me, though, is the duck confit. Lightly fried for perfectly crispy skin, with tender, fall-off-the-bone duck, served alongside chips--absolutely delicious! Finishing the night with the crème brûlée was the perfect touch.

Came here on a Monday for their happy hour. Their inside is cozy with bar and wall seating. Weather was great so we sat outback in their patio. Oysters came with lemon wedges, vinaigrette and cocktail sauce. The lemon wasn’t the freshest (see pic) but the oysters were. Cute lil spot, will be back!

The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I really liked it here and will definitely be back. The oysters were great, and escargot were surprisingly better than some I’ve had in Paris even though they’re served a little differently. I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience 10/10

I came here for brunch. I recommend sitting outside if you can since its lovely. The service was pretty regular but the wait staff is good. We got the coffee- sort of ok- and then the pancake, the ratatouille omlette and the burger. I highly recommend the pancake, it has a cake consistency and comes with a delicious strawberry butter. I also loved my burger, it was one of the better ones Ive had from a preparation standpoint, I got it with the blue cheese. The ratatouille omlette wasnt really a stand out but it was good. The space outdoors is lots of little cafe tables and chairs, it has a roof on top in case it rains and has one big group table for shares and large parties. I think I will be back for dinner

This is a cool local spot! I ordered the steak tartar and fries. The tartar is ok, a little plain. Fries amazing, drinks are great! The ambiance kinda has a feel of your rich friends’ house in the midwestern suburbs in 2009 which is fun. Good spot to hang and have some drinks!
